City Logistics Seminar in Bologna: Innovative Measures for Urban Freight Mobility in Emilia-Romagna
On 12 June, we organised in Bologna the seminar “City Logistics: Innovative Measures from the Cities of Emilia-Romagna” — an open and participatory discussion on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable urban logistics.
Promoted in collaboration with TRT Trasporti e Territorio, the event aimed to share reflections, experiences, and perspectives on policies for managing urban freight mobility, and to explore possible innovation pathways for the future.
Starting from the results of the study conducted together with TRT, the discussion focused on how cities across Emilia-Romagna are addressing the challenges of urban logistics and which solutions can make distribution systems more efficient, sustainable, and better integrated with urban dynamics.
A programme rich in insights
After the opening remarks and introduction by Simona Tondelli, Coordinator of Clust-ER Urban Economy, the seminar began with a keynote by Patrizia Malgieri (TRT), who outlined the main trends and evolutionary trajectories of urban logistics measures at national and international level.

The event continued with two complementary panels:
- Urban Logistics Planning in Emilia-Romagna – featuring representatives from the Municipality of Bologna, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Metropolitan City of Bologna, and the Clean Cities Italia network.
- Innovative Models and Solutions – with contributions from the Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL), GelProximity, sector experts, and operators already experimenting with new approaches in the field.
