Extreme | Resilience of Critical Infrastructures
Extreme | Critical Infrastructures is an intercluster project developed within the Intercluster Value Chain, aimed at strengthening the safety, resilience and operational continuity of critical infrastructures at regional level, in response to increasing natural and digital risks.
The project is led by Clust-ER Build and developed in collaboration with Clust-ER Innovate, Clust-ER Tourism and Clust-ER Urban Economy.
Objectives and focus areas
Extreme focuses on the development of integrated models for analysis, prevention and response to extreme events, with particular attention to:
- safety and continuity of essential services
- climate change adaptation
- sustainable infrastructure management
Project activities are structured around three key territorial contexts:
- coastal and port systems
- plains and hilly areas
- mountain areas
Intercluster approach
The project promotes the integration of complementary expertise in digital twins, big data, IoT, nature-based solutions, infrastructure assessment, training and emergency management, fostering collaboration between research, businesses and local stakeholders.
The “Extreme Board + Members” meeting held on 30 September 2025 marked a key operational moment for discussion among clusters and members, aimed at collecting contributions, proposals and shared development trajectories.
